You can start your investigation in Maltego Graph (Browser) in two main ways:

  1. Directly within the Maltego Graph (Browser).
  2. By using Maltego Search and then switching the results view to display as a graph in the Maltego Graph (Browser).

Directly from Maltego Graph (Browser)

To start an investigation directly in the Maltego Graph (Browser), follow these steps:

  1. Open Maltego Graph (Browser).
  2. Create a New Graph: Click the plus icon above the "New Graph" label.
  3. Name Your Graph: Assign a name to your graph for easy identification.
  4. Add an Entity:
    • Click the plus icon in the center of the screen.
    • Select an Entity from the folders or type the name of the desired Entity into the Search Bar.
    • Click the Star icon in the top-right corner of the Entity icon to add it to your favorites. Favorite Entities will appear at the top of your Entity selection panel for quicker access.
    • You can also paste Entities by using Control/Cmd+C and copying Entities directly from Maltego Graph (Desktop) and pasting into Maltego Graph (Browser) using Control/Cmd+V.
  5. Rename the Entity: Click on the Entity icon and type the desired name in the menu on the right.
  6. Set the transform result limit slider:
    • Professional and Organization plan users have the option to choose from displaying a small, balanced, and large output to maintain manageable graph sizes. The default position of the slider is balanced Transform results for Professional and Organization plan users, and small for CE.
  7. Run a Transform:

    • Right-click on the Entity and select Run Transform.
    • Choose the desired Transform to run.
  8. Run Transforms on Multiple Entities (Optional):
    • Select multiple Entities by dragging your mouse over them.
    • Click the Run Transforms icon on the top-left corner of the screen to execute Transforms for all selected Entities.
