Overview
With the latest update, the new project layout is now the default experience in Maltego Evidence.
This change is part of our effort to:
- Provide a more consistent user experience across Maltego products
- Improve usability and navigation
- Reduce complexity caused by maintaining multiple layouts
If you are familiar with the previous layout, you may notice some differences. This article explains how to switch back to the classic layout if needed.
Why you’re seeing this change
The classic project layout is being phased out and will be removed on 13 July, 2026.
To ensure a smooth transition:
- All users are temporarily switched to the new layout
- You can still switch back to the classic layout until 13 July
- Your preference will be saved and can be changed at any time
How to switch back to the classic layout
You can return to the classic layout in just a few steps:
- Open your Preferences
- Under "Display" turn off the switch.
- Click "Save Preferences"
The application will automatically reload and display the classic layout.
Important notes
- Switching layouts does not affect your data
- You can switch between layouts at any time until 13 July, 2026.
- The classic layout will be permanently removed on 13 July, 2026.
What to expect from the new layout
The new layout introduces:
- A cleaner and more structured project overview
- Improved navigation and discoverability
- Better alignment with other Maltego platform experiences
